 Job Description

Position Summary
The Web Design Assistant is responsible for assisting with the advertising / merchandising, content design and production. A solid background in web / graphic design, as well as experience working in both the print and online space is required. Moreover, the most competitive candidates will display a strong understanding of the Onions unique brand and readership.

Job Duties
" Work with the Production Design Manager to collaborate with all markets, tweaking existing designs.
" Design graphics used for various types of merchandise (i.e. apparel, print / paper products, novelty items, etc.).
" Create online graphics as it relates to our Homepage Images, Merchandise Detail Images, etc.
" Work with the Ad Product Manager to quickly execute custom online advertising based on existing templates and assets
" Serve as a resource for any site redesigns and for the rest of the design department.
" Any and all other assigned projects or tasks, including Business and Content design projects, or other collaborative or longer-term projects important to either the local market, or broader Onion initiatives.


 Job Requirements

Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of experience coupled with a college track in web / graphic design or a related field. Candidates should also have an eye for clean design, smart application of Onion tone, and attention to detail.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, experience with Flash, and must have strong Photoshop skills.
