 Job Description

CFC International, a leader in the specialty chemical market that designs, manufactures & markets chemically complex, transferable, multi-layered coatings has an immediate opening for a Senior Chemist in its Chicago Heights, IL facility. This position will be responsible for formulating complex chemistries and performing product development from concept to commercialization. Other responsibilities include improving manufacturing processes to eliminate scrap and initiate cost savings; working with Sales and Business Unit Manager to analyze technical opportunities; developing specialty multi-layer coating products; visiting customer sites and performing pilot runs; and writing and performing test protocols based on customer end usage.


 Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related experience. Masters degree is a plus. Candidates must have eight to ten years experience developing ink and specialty film coatings, chemistries formulation, use of compounding and milling processes, and UV and thermal curing and drying experience. Experience with polymer chemistry a plus. Must also have demonstrated ability to manage multiple product development projects from concept to commercialization; proficient computer skills using Word, Excel and Outlook programs; and be a detail oriented team player with good verbal and written communications to interact effectively with various departments, vendors and customers.
