This individual will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment in the plant; developing and implementing safety and/or environmental programs in compliance with Company and governmental requirements; and conducting safety training sessions.
Typical duties include: Consults with production departments on use of equipment, fire prevention and other safety matters. Conducts safety training. Audits and/or tours facility(ies) to identify potential hazards. Recommends corrective or preventative measures.
Identifies waste streams and arranges for testing of samples. Arranges for shipment of all hazardous waste streams. Prepares all hazardous labels.
Compiles, files and maintains required safety and/or environmental reports.
Compiles, logs, and analyzes accident data. Prepares and submits required safety reports for use by Company personnel and outside agencies. Reviews accident reports and initiates corrective actions.
Orders and maintains first aid, environmental and safety supply inventory.
Transports injured employees to medical facilities.

" B.S. Business or a related field and considerable experience administering safety programs and records with some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. " Good knowledge of state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, and workers compensation. " Good knowledge of division/plant operations or the ability to acquire it quickly. " Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports. " Ability to supervise and interface effectively with company personnel. " Proficient with MS Office.
