Tips To Ensure A Perfect Job Interview

1. Be on time!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. If you are late to an interview you already have things stacked against you. Make sure you leave very early and spend some time in the parking lot if you have to but make sure you walk into the meeting about 10 minutes early.

2. Be Prepared!
Make sure you research the company you are visiting. The more information you know about their company will help you in the interview. It sounds funny but almost 35% of people attending interviews can't even give a detailed description of the company they are interviewing for.

3. Write down and practice possible questions!
Practicing questions is like studying for a test. You need to be prepared and ready for the interview. You must have studied thousands of hours at school and the sole purpose was to get a job. Think of this as your last test and study for a few days before the interview and you will be surprised how well it will go.

4. What are your weaknesses?
If an interviewer asks you your weakness you should have one. Make sure you really think about this question and make sure you respond with an answer like "this is my weakness and I have done this to try and strengthen it".

5. You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
Remember, an interviewer will get a first impression from you within 30 seconds and it will follow you around the entire interview. Make sure you dress correctly and are very attentive when you meet the interviewer to show them you are excited and prepared for the job.

6. Be honest!
There really is no point lying about your background and/or skills. If you get caught, at anytime during your employment your employer will loose the trust in you. This loss of trust can get you fired or worse, keep you in a job without ever moving into a position you deserve.

7. Keep eye contact at all times with the interviewer.
Make sure you are not intimidated by the interviewer and keep constant eye contact. So many people have lost jobs because they seem too timid for a job. The employer wants to see that you are tough and can handle meeting with clients and new people.

8. Talk about specific achievements!
Interviewers like to know how you felt about about a particular success. Some will ask for specific examples of things you've done that you're particularly proud of etc. Make sure you have a number of success stories that are relevant to the position you are hiring for and don't make you seem arrogant.

9. Don't talk too much!
Communication is a two-way thing so give the interviewer a chance to lead the meeting. You can be to aggressive and may turn off an interviewer if you never stop talking.

10. Be enthusiastic and positive at all times!
Don't criticize previous employers, particularly within the industry. Focus on positive achievements and views and see all glasses as half full. Nobody likes negative people and if it comes down to you and a positive person you know who will get the job.
